Journeys are true journal entries. Journal, from Latin diurnus (having a meaning of what can be accomplished in a day of work), unlike pathways, are loaded with questions, feelings of being lost and unknown endings.
My recent journeys took me to Dhamma Thorana, Ontario (Vipassana) and Tara Mandala, Colorado (Vajrayana). I am a life-long student of various practices and I am hoping that one day I will reach equanimity Ryokan was able to find in his heart and his mind.
“Too lazy to be ambitious,
I let the world take care of itself.
Ten days’ worth of rice in my bag;
a bundle of twigs by the fireplace.
Why chatter about delusion and enlightenment?
Listening to the night rain on my roof,
I sit comfortably, with both legs stretched out.”
